Is my thinking right on this point or am I missing some vital information. If my main fleet (carriers, BBs etc) get into combat being able to penetrate screens 25% of the time would seem more useful. If I was to guess I would say lancer is the better choice being that raiding convoys isn't going to bring to many problems regarding detection. I seem to be able to find very little solid information on any Admiral traits outside of the very first level. Being Germany I have "Karl Donitz" with the "Seawolf" trait, and the option to assign either "silent hunter" or "lancer". I am building up a decent sized navy with a focus on submarines in the early game to cut of vital trade routes to the ally powers. I have spent the last 20 minutes searching this /r, official/unofficial forums and the HOI IV wiki looking into admiral traits and just how useful each is and whether or not I should go with it or not.
